Choose your homeland over criminals, Grech tells voters

Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech has said that voters have a decision to make in the elections on 8 June, describing it as "an election for Maltese and Gozitans who must choose their homeland over the criminals that robbed our country."

Grech called for voters to vote for the PN on 8 June in the European Parliament elections and local council elections in order to "cut down this mafia" that has taken over the Maltese people and the rest of the country.

"On 8 June, you cannot keep giving your support to the Mafia in Castille," Grech stated, "These stole the Maltese people's health; these took millions from the Maltese and Gozitans, from Maltese healthcare."

Giving two successive speeches in St. Julian's and Iklin within the span of an hour, Bernard Grech said in both locations that what is going on now with the Vitals inquiry supersedes discussions of how his party can aid Maltese and Gozitan localities.

"We are emerging from very difficult times," he said, "The Maltese and Gozitan people are dumbfounded with how grave the accusations that have been brought forward in our Courts against those that were meant to protect the interests of the people, but instead, decided to be complicit with those who robbed us, are."

The PN leader referenced how an ex-Prime Minister, a current Minister, three ex-Ministers, an ex-Chief of Staff, and other persons who held and still hold high public positions are complicit in "the largest theft and fraud this country has ever witnessed."

Grech called for Prime Minister Robert Abela to cut ties with the disgraced former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat once and for all to "save our country" and the Maltese and Gozitan people.

"If you cannot do this because of the famous devil's pact, your hands are tied or because your finger is buried in this filth, then you are compromised," he said, "You are weak."

He also made reference to the poor conditions being recorded in local healthcare systems since investment was not made in local hospitals. Grech described how he and his colleagues received images of patients who, instead of resting on a stretcher, were being forced to rest on two chairs with a bucket placed underneath them.

Grech addressed voters, saying that his party is here for them, but it is up to them to make the choice for themselves, their children, the country, and every person in society.

He also said that we are in today's situation thanks to the hard work of his party, Repubblika, and others who worked at different levels, and not because the institutions worked. In this regard, he said that just last year, the Court of Appeal "confirmed that this was the greatest fraud in the history of our country" and that "This is why they ordered for the hospitals to be brought back. This did not happen because the government took the necessary steps."
