UFC fighter Sean O'Malley turns on Conor McGregor saying his idol has turned to a rival

Sean O'Malley says he was "more sad than mad" with recent comments made by Conor McGregor about him.

McGregor took aim at the UFC bantamweight fighter last week as he brought up a suspension handed out to O'Malley a number of years ago.

'Suga' was suspended for six months after testing positive for the prohibited substance ostarine in 2018 before also testing positive for the same substance in 2019, though the United States Anti-Doping Agency later determined that his test results were found to be consistent with the amount that would be found in a tainted supplement.

And O'Malley, who was a fan of McGregor's, has now hit back at the Dubliner over the comments.

He said on the “TimboSugarShow” podcast: "That’s crazy what Conor did – f*** Conor. F*** Conor, man. I’ve seen a lot of people being like, ‘Yeah, I bet ‘Suga’s’ sad. ‘Suga’ is always talking nothing (but) great about Conor, and he’s his f***ing idol.’ He just went on a little tweet rant."

He added: "I was more sad than mad."

O'Malley stated that he now can't wait to see Michael Chandler "sleep" McGregor when the pair collide in Las Vegas on June 29.

“Now I cannot wait to see Michael Chandler absolutely sleep him,” O’Malley said. “I’m turning up. I’m changing up real quick. F*** Conor. When your idols turn to rivals.”
