Jamie Carragher's Man Utd rant in full as he slams two flops and offers Erik ten Hag verdict

Jamie Carragher launched a stinging rant of Manchester United following their humiliation at the hands of Crystal Palace.

United fell to a dire 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park on Monday night, with Erik ten Hag's side now eighth in the Premier League. It has been a miserable second season in charge for the Dutchman.

And he is now facing Carragher's criticism, with the Liverpool legend claiming United are the 'worst coached team' in the top-flight. Carragher also took aim at Casemiro and Antony, urging the former to pull back from top level football.

It was an extraordinary rant from the Sky Sports pundit, who pulled no punches in his assessment of United's dire performance. Here, Mirror Football brings you Carragher's rant in full.

On Casemiro

“Casemiro should know tonight as an experienced player that he should only have another three games left at the top level – the next two league games and the cup final – then go to the MLS or Saudi.

“I’m deadly serious – his agent, the team of people around him, they have to tell him: this has to stop. We are watching one of the greats of the modern times, playing in the best midfields we have seen who have dominated Europe – him holding, Kroos and Modric alongside him.

“I am nowhere near on what that man has achieved, winning Champions Leagues, playing for Brazil and Real Madrid. But I always remember something when I retired myself, there’s a saying I always remember: Leave the football, before the football leaves you. The football has left him at this top level. He has to call it a day and move.

“They should pay him off and do some sort of deal. But that sort of a player should not be put through this by Crystal Palace. He’s not playing Manchester City or Real Madrid, all due to respect to Crystal Palace. A man of that level should not go what he’s going through and has to call it a day.”

On Antony

“Just get off the pitch. Talking and whispering behind your hand, you have been absolutely awful. They are probably talking about one of the players, or somebody else or the setup or the manager.

"Just get off the pitch. Shut up and get in, you've been beaten 4-0. Whispering and talking about other players. Honestly, embarrassing.”

On Erik ten Hag

“This is one of the most poorly coached teams in the Premier League. That is a fact. That is not an opinion, that is a fact. The numbers tell you that when they are bottom of the league defensively, lower than Sheffield United.

"Your performance levels will drop and the results are not as good when you are missing your best players, that is the most obvious thing to say. I have said this for a while for Erik ten Hag now, it’s almost the opposite of what you would say with most managers.

"You say they need a result, but he needs performances. He needs belief that you know they are struggling with players and it’s not a great time and the structure at the club isn’t right, we get all of that.

"But you have to make us believe that there is something here and working towards something. I struggled to see how Manchester United would win tonight. No Manchester United team should be getting beat 4-0 by Crystal Palace.

"Manchester United’s U23 team, if they are at Manchester United and they have come through the academy and have been coached and taught to play and played in that game, I would still not expect them to lose 4-0.

"I have never been a coach or a manager, but I have been a player, and I have been coached by some top coaches, and some of the things I see are just wrong.”

On Andre Onana

"That score should have happened at Brentford a few weeks ago, don't forget. We've seen that a lot this season and a lot of the time United get away with it, with the goalkeeper making saves. He didn't tonight."

On away support

“That’s unbelievable isn’t it? Most teams' away support is fantastic. They go on the road, they pay their money but that is absolutely fantastic from those Manchester United fans because you know what, they don't deserve that. If they go off thinking it wasn’t as bad as we think because of the supporters' reaction. That is unbelievable from those lads.”

On Eze and Olise walking into United team

"In Eze and Olise, Crystal Palace have got two players that would walk into Manchester United's team. Under Oliver Glasner, they have been brilliant. Manchester United never looked like scoring."
