Conflicts devour resources,build peace Mattarella tells UN

Conflicts devour resources and we must
build peace, President Sergio Mattarella told the UN General
Assembly Monday.

   
"Peace and development have crossed destinies. There cannot be
one without the other. We live in an era with the greatest
number of conflicts since the end of World War II, which devour
enormous resources in the arms race, taking them away from
development," he said.

   
The call to build the necessary conditions for peace and to end
conflicts could not be more necessary and urgent'.
