Dublin Fire Brigade battle multiple blazes across capital over bank holiday weekend


Dublin Fire Brigade were dispatched to the scene of multiple blazes over the bank holiday weekend, battling fires all across the capital.



On Sunday, firefighters attached to Dublin Fire Brigade, along with paramedics from Killbarrack and North Strand stations, were dispatched to the scene of a domestic fire in the city.



Crews from ESB Networks and Gas Networks Ireland were also in attendance at the blaze, with firefighters battling to put out the inferno.

This was just one of multiple incidents over the weekend. In a separate fire, DFB issued a warning to members of the public after crew worked to put out a waste fire in Tallaght.



A DFB spokesperson said on X: "Unofficial van collections often end up dumped and set alight like this.



"Only use licenced operators for waste. Help keep our communities clean and safe."



On Saturday night, firefighters were also alerted to a car on fire in Clondalkin, with a derelict building also going up in flames on Saturday, prompting firefighters to jump into action.



The DFB spokesperson said: "Firefighters/Paramedics from Dolphins Barn and Tara Street responded to reports of a fire in a derelict building [on Saturday].



"In total, two breathing apparatus teams were sent into the building One team fought the fire and the other carried out a thorough search of the building."
