AP McCoy's wife Chanelle sends birthday message as legendary jockey turns 50

Chanelle McCoy took to social media over the weekend to wish her husband a happy birthday.

Legendary jockey AP McCoy turned 50 on Saturday after spending a number of days at the Punchestown Festival, where he saw the colours of his former boss JP McManus carried to victory by Spillane's Tower and Its On The Line.

Chanelle shared a photo of herself and AP, with their two children, writing: "Happy Birthday Anthony, 50 you never looked so good."

The 20-time champion jockey appeared on Friday night's Late Late Show as he sat down with host Patrick Kielty ahead of his birthday.

McCoy told how a fortune teller predicted his success when he was just a youngster.

He said: "I went to Jim Bolger's this week in 1990 when I was 15. I went to the Strawberry Fair in Wexford in 1991 with a friend of mine, Conor Everard.

"I don't know what the fortune teller told him but I went to this fortune teller when I was 16 and she told me that she could see horses and big stages.

"She told me that there is a jockey called Lester Piggott and she could see me like him.

"I remember going back to Conor and said that she didn't know what she was talking about!

"She genuinely would have had no idea that I had anything to do with horses!"
