Conor McGregor throws lavish birthday party for two of his children as he thanks Dee Devlin

Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin threw a lavish party to celebrate their two sons' birthdays over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The basketball-themed party took place for Conor Jr and Rian as a large number of family and friends attended.

Posting a number of photos from the party online, MMA star McGregor wrote: "Best 7 years of my time on this earth, thank you God, thank you Mammy, thank you my son @conormcgregorjr you are the coolest kid I’ve ever known, I absolutely love you my boy! Happy 7th birthday my son, Daddy loves ya."

Conor Jr, who was turning seven, could be seen playing basketball with his friends in the snaps, while another showed McGregor holding him up to blow out the candles on his cake, while Dee held Rian, who turns three later this month.

Fellow fighters and members of McGregor's family were among the many people to send Conor Jr birthday wishes on social media.

McGregor is currently preparing for his first fight in almost three years against Michael Chandler on June 29, which the former two-weight champion has stated will be the "greatest comeback of all time", with the bout officially being confirmed by the UFC last month.

Speaking at the time, UFC President Dana White said: "There’s all kinds of things that go on behind the scenes and it’s all about timing. Chandler’s been ready but Conor hasn’t been ready.

"We talked about this in one of the press conferences recently, he had a lot of obligations that he had to deal with. What you don’t want him doing is accepting a fight when he’s got a ton of obligations and he can’t train 100% for a fight, so here we are tonight."
