Woman arrested with 15kg of cannabis in luggage

A woman of Greek nationality was arrested at the Malta International Airport after she was found to be carrying 15 kilogrammes of cannabis in her luggage, the police said.

The woman, aged 27, was held by Customs Department officers on Saturday evening upon her arrival from Madrid, Spain, via Frankfurt, Germany.

The police later arrested the woman, who is set to be charged in court.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry.
