Dublin shooting: One dead, three arrested following early morning incident in Drimnagh

One man has died and three people have been arrested following a shooting in Dublin in the early hours of Monday.

Gardaí have confirmed that at around 12.15am, a man sustained fatal injuries during a shooting incident on the Knocknarea Road in Drimnagh, Dublin 12.

Emergency services, including multiple Garda cars, fire engines, an ambulance and a Garda helicopter were reportedly in attendance at the scene of the shocking incident.

The body of the man remains at the scene and a post-mortem examination is being arranged with the area currently preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Three men have been arrested as part of the investigation and they are currently being detained at Garda Stations in the Dublin Region under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

The investigation into this incident is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and an Incident Room has been established at Sundrive Road Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday 6 May in the Dublin 12 area.”

They added: “Anyone with any information that can assist Gardaí with their investigation is asked to contact Sundrive Road Garda Station on 01 666 6600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

The garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror that no further information is available at this time.
