Harry Kane responds to Jude Bellingham after attempt to put him off before penalty

Harry Kane insisted not even Jude Bellingham could stop him from scoring his 43rd goal of the season.

Real Madrid star Bellingham cheekily tried to have a word in Kane’s ear just before his England team mate was about to step up to take his spot kick.

But Kane remained focused and slotted home the goal before Vinicius Junior grabbed a late leveller to keep the Champions League semi final tie all square ahead of next week’s return leg in the Bernabeu.

‌Kane said: “I don't know what he was saying. I saw him mumbling something. Once I'm in that moment, I'm in my zone, trying to block everyone out. I'm sure he was saying something to try to put me off.”

Kane said that he ended up feeling disappointed that Bayern did not win but is still confident they can reach the final at Wembley on June 1. He said: “A little disappointed. Once we got 2-1 ahead we had two or three good chances.

“This is the Champions League semi-final. We expected a tough game. Real are one of the best teams in Europe who can punish you with one or two actions. All to play for next week. We know we can have chances next week we just have to take them.

‌"We started on the front foot. Their goal came against the run of play. We struggled to play our game. Second half we played with a higher intensity. We deserved our two goals, shame we couldn't get a third.

‌“But it's been a good season so far. It's just about the next game. Everything we're fighting for this year is in this competition. It'll be tough. We have to go there with full belief. But I'm here for many years.

“It's not a one-off year I'm here for. Of course at the start of the season the expectation was to win trophies. The Champions League is the biggest one. If we can somehow get our hands on that one it would be an amazing season.”

‌Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti substituted Bellingham before the end and revealed the England star was not at his peak fitness. Ancelotti said: “He will get back to his best performance. He was injured which affected him. He wasn't at his best in this game but will be back and on Wednesday will be 100 per cent again.”
