Premier League: Hamrun demolish Floriana to be crowned champions

Hamrun Spartans demolished Floriana 5-0 to be crowned Premier League champions.

Needing a victory to secure the title, Hamrun opened the score after only 8 minutes and Floriana crumbled.

Seth Paintsil headed the ball home from a Ryan Camenzuli’s cross for a 1-0 lead.

Painstill added two more goals quickly afterwards, while Elionay killed off the match as a contest with a fourth goal in first-half stoppage time.

Midway through the second half Painstill netted his fourth goal to seal the match.

The Spartans have taken an unassailable four-point lead at the top and are now ensured of their tenth league title in their club history.
