Police officers rescue woman trapped in house fire

Police officers rescued a woman who was trapped in a house fire on Thursday, the police said in a statement on Saturday.

The blaze occurred at 5.30pm in Raymond Caruana Street, Guzja.

Upon arriving on site, the two officers noticed smoke coming out of the building and went inside.

The found a woman, aged 72, on the first floor, who according to the police statement was in a state of panic and had inhaled fumes.

The officers helped the woman out of the building, and she was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers from the Civil Protection Department put out the blaze.
