'The apple of her dad's eye' - Tributes flood in for young cyclist killed in Dublin collision


Tributes have poured in from far and wide for a young cyclist who was tragically killed in Dublin following a collision.



22-year-old Greta Price-Martin lost her life early on Wednesday morning when a truck collided with her at the junction of Glenageary Road Upper, Mountown Road Lower and Kill Avenue while she was cycling to work.



Emergency services rushed young Greta to the nearby St Vincent's Hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries.

A native of Templetown, Cooley, Co Louth, tributes have flown in for Greta, who had recently completed her first year at IADT and started her first job in film production, from where she collected a huge circle of friends.



The 22-year-old is dearly missed by her loving family, including her adoring parents, Breffni and Vanessa, sister Ruth, brothers Jack and Louis, partner Charlie, as well as her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.



“So shocked and saddened to hear of Greta’s passing. I remember her cheeky grin when she came to Anne's playschool where I was working at the time,” one person wrote.



“She was so full of fun and the apple of her dad's eye. May she rest in peace. Condolences to her family and friends.”



“My heart aches deeply when I heard the bad news,” one more added. “May the young lady rest in peace. And extend my deepest condolences to her family.”



While a third penned: “Terrible tragedy in our local area, we as local residents in the Mounttown environs are deeply shocked and saddened at the loss of a beautiful young talented woman.



“We send our deepest condolences to Greta’s family, friends and fellow students at IADT.”



The funeral arrangements for Greta will be announced in time. May she rest in peace.
