Peter Andre unveils 'number one' favourite name for new-born daughter - but there's an issue

Emily and Peter Andre are struggling to settle on a name for their new-born daughter - but the singer has admitted he has a favourite option.

The couple welcomed their third child, the star's fifth, in early April, 2024 and only have a handful of weeks before they have to make up their minds and officially register their baby. As the deadline looms, Peter has asked help from his fans to find a suitable name for the tot, after settling on an adorable nickname for her.

However, in a post shared on Instagram this Thursday, April 24, the Mysterious Girl singer listed names that have been standing out to him and revealed his "number one choice" to fans in the comment section. But the names have failed to get his wife Emily's stamp of approval.

It all started when a fan suggested: "Olivia is the best name", prompting Peter to respond: "Olivia was my number one choice but Ems not sure." The 51-year-old added that two other beautiful names were on his list of top names for baby number three. "Athena is also in the running. Not sure how Ems feels about it but I LOVE it", he penned, "Charlotte is also in the running. I like Charlie."

Peter and Emily have both failed to see eye-to-eye for the name of their third child. Prior to the birth, the TV star admitted in his column for New! Magazine that he was ready to name the baby after A-list actor Keanu Reeves, after learning his name was making itself rarer throughout the years. But he was thrown back to square one when his beloved wife welcomed a baby girl.

Unable to make up his mind and agree with his other half, Peter even confessed the tot could go weeks without a name, much like her older sister Millie who was called Rose for the first six weeks of her life. This has left him with the idea of throwing in the towel and letting Emily call the shots.

"We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them. So I think it’s only fair that Emily decides – I hope she picks a good one", Peter recently claimed. But as she recovers from the physical trauma of birth, the process of finding a name has been slowed down.

"We are still no closer to a name for our newest bundle of joy. Any time Emily and I talk about it, it just gets put aside. Since Emily and I agreed for her to be the one to choose, it seems to have slowed down the process even more", he said on April 23, 2024. "She is recovering after all, so I totally get it." Will they make a decision in time?

As the father of a five children in total, including two he shares with former wife Katie Price, Peter Andre is no stranger to the hassles of fatherhood, particularly the sleepless nights it can involve, and frequently updates his followers on his day-to-day with his new baby. Two weeks after the birth of the tot, Peter admitted he'd just managed to get his "first decent sleep."
