Where are MAFS Australia's Cassandra and Tristan now? From 'combative' arguments to emotional update

Married At First Sight Australia fans were devastated when Cassandra and Tristan mutually agreed to leave the show - but what have they been up to since filming? From feuds with co-stars to self-help journeys, the pair have been full of surprises.

Cassandra Allen, 29, and Tristan Black, 30, had an instant connection when they met for the first time at the altar. But it was far from smooth sailing, with viewers witnessing their relationship break down with the lack of communication between the pair.

While Tristan would go on to confess his love for bride Cassandra, it seemed it was too little, too late, as she spent week after week pleading for his affection. The pain ultimately made an amicable decision to leave together and stay friends - and that's exactly what they've done.

The couple's troubles stemmed from Tristan battling insecurities, and even though Cassandra tried her hardest to reassure him, the couple realised they weren't going to work out and ended up leaving the experiment.

After leaving the show, Tristan kept it short and sweet as he wrote a tribute to Cassandra on Instagram: "Waddling into the week as a divorcee but wouldn't change meeting you for the world. You're something special Cass, thank you for going on this journey with me."

While Cassandra also shared a heartfelt note on social media, saying: "Tristan where do I begin. You have made me laugh until my ribs ached and tears were coming out of my eyes! You have stood up for me and protected me whether I was in the room or not. You have shown me the depth of a man's heart and shown me emotions they are told to hide and not speak about.

"Thank you for being so vulnerable and honest every day and for taking on the feedback from the experts and not giving up. For someone so intelligent, hilarious and brilliant you really don't see how bright you are, that's okay because I'll keep telling you. It's not easy in here and what you did last night, made me respect and admire you even more."

Cassandra gave a deeper insight into their relationship when speaking to 9Entertainment after leaving the show. She said: "By the time it got to the arguing and the combat outweighing the fun that we had, then I was like: 'No, we're not meant to be'..." Whereas Tristan said his time on the experiment was "probably one of the best things I've ever done".

Revealing what would happen to the couple after leaving the show, Tristan stated Cassandra would "always stay in my life" and described her as "such a special lady". He added: "When I was on the show with Cass, it was 50 per cent working on myself and 50 per cent working on my relationship with Cass. Now I do 100 per cent working on myself.

"This has shown me a lot of my flaws, but it's also showed me a lot of my positives and has helped me become way more confident as a person. Rejection doesn't have to be as big a deal," he added.

Since leaving the show Tristan has posted regular updates on Instagram, recently sharing: "I have been working hard on my self the last 6 months and want to thank all my family and friends for the all the love and support. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures." Meanwhile, Cassandra has been spending time with co-star Eden Harper, and getting back into her modelling career.

Tristan has been spending a lot of time with is co-star Sara Mesa, with the pair enjoying nights out together. While some fans speculated they could be dating, the pair claimed they're just "really good friends".

This could have caused tension for Cassandra, as in the reunion - which is yet to be aired in the UK - Cassandra has an unexpected outburst at Sara. In the episode, Cassandra called her a "liar" as well as "nasty" and "fake". Fans were left wondering what had actually happened between the two, as the outburst seemingly came out of nowhere.
