Jeremy Clarkson's girlfriend almost slapped with criminal record after huge Diddly Squat farm error

Jeremy Clarkson's girlfriend Lisa Hogan said she was told she could end up with a criminal record if she sold non-local produce on their farm.

Clarkson's Farm is returning for yet another season, with viewers following their lives on the Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire with fan favourites Kaleb and Gerald Cooper. Ahead of the release of the third season, Jeremy's partner had a 'serious conversation' regarding the types of produce she wanted to sell on their farm.

Their land agent and advisor Charlie Ireland told the couple that they were only allowed to sell items produced within 16 miles of their farm. If they didn't follow the rules, they could end up with a criminal record. She said: "Charlie had to have a serious conversation with me and say that I could end up with a criminal record if I didn't comply.

"It's council regulations which I respect, especially after Charlie explained it to me in his clear and concise way." Jeremy also said he wanted to show the realities of having a farm, telling viewers that life on Diddly Squat farm wasn't for the squeamish.

The 64-year-old explained: "Farming on television has been portrayed as fresh straw, fluffy lambs, agreeable calves: a bit like Babe. I had it in my head that farming was much dirtier and harder, and I always wanted to show it like it actually is. Farming doesn't have many happy endings, as we've discovered. We want to show everybody what real farming is."

In the new series, 50-year-old Lisa was seen crying on Jeremy's shoulder after a number of her prized piglets died. After bonding with the animals in a way she never expected, Lisa admits she didn't think she would become so attached, explaining: “I didn’t think I’d be that enamoured by pigs but I did get really close to them. Farming’s just sad. The animals become your friends and you’re isolated. It was heartbreaking.”

Jeremy added during a Q&A about the new series that he called on Lisa to help deliver piglets in the third instalment of the popular series, explaining: “It turns out that pigs aren’t great mothers as a general rule, but the sandy and black breed that we got makes for a particularly poor mother."

Jeremy and Lisa were left heartbroken when the animals lost their lives after the Doncaster-born star can be seen tending to his pigs after they welcomed their first bunch of tiny piglets.

However, it becomes increasingly obvious that things aren't going to plan as the host is heard saying: "One of them is as weak as hell," as he reaches into a large incubator. Hours later, Jeremy hands Lisa two piglets that had tragically died.
