Dark Toyah twist and body found

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed a dark storyline for Toyah Battersby, that viewers slammed as "grim". In a controversial storyline in 2001, teenager Toyah was attacked and raped, with her attacker initially not revealed.

Corrie eventually revealed a man named Phil Simmonds was behind the assault, and he was imprisoned months later. Toyah makes a heartbreaking confession next week, with spoilers confirming the reported storyline that would see Toyah reveal she fell pregnant as a result of her rape ordeal is in fact true. The storyline will see her reveal her baby was sadly stillborn, and she buried the baby girl in a park.

Spoilers reveal that amid Roy Cropper being charged with Lauren Bolton's murder, Toyah helps search for his missing dog Freddie and she comes across three sleuths digging up a rose bed at the park. With Freddie seen digging in the area, the trio believe Lauren's body may have been buried their by Roy.

Toyah loses it though, and smashes their car warning them off. Nick Tilsley is concerned about her behaviour as she bursts into tears, and soon Toyah rails at an upset Sam for losing Freddie in the first place.

The police come looking for Toyah about the incident, but she remains adamant she was right to defend Roy’s reputation and to stop the sleuths from desecrating such a special place. Nick is confused by her choice of words, and he soon finds her breaking down in tears once more.

It's then that Toyah tells him that at 19 years of age, she gave birth to a stillborn baby girl. She kept it a secret and she buried her baby in the exact same place in the park where the group was digging.

Toyah takes a deep breath and admits to Nick that the baby’s father was her rapist Phil Simmonds. What happens next remains to be seen, with the spoilers teasing trouble ahead for Toyah when the police believe they have found a body at the park in their search for Lauren.

Coronation Street 's Roy could find himself "tricked into confessing" to Lauren's murder in a sick twist next week. Only recently, Roy has found himself arrested, charged and number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren.

Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police and Roy has found himself under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren's flat, which some people thought proved he was guilty and he was disposing of evidence. On Friday night, Roy found himself charged with the murder of missing teenager Lauren and things are only going to get worse for him.

In upcoming scenes, Sam Blakeman promises Nina Lucas that he will walk Roy's dog Freddie the dog before school. As Sam heads out, unbeknown to him, a sleuth watches from a table in the corner and later a distraught Sam returns without Freddie, explaining he ran off.

As Evelyn Plummer watches over the café, Nina and Toyah Battersby head out to look for Freddie. Back at the café, Nina, Asha and Evelyn watch a video uploaded by the Internet sleuths terrorising Roy, showing that they've taken Freddie hostage and to secure his safe return, Roy must confess to Lauren's murder in a sick twist.

Coronation Street 's Leanne and Toyah Battersby could be torn apart, as newcomer Rowan targets them. The mystery new character drives a wedge between the sisters next week, as he continues to reel in Leanne for his institute. Amid a cult storyline being tackled on the show, Leanne clashes with Toyah over Rowan, before reporting back to him.

Rowan urges Leanne to abandon her sister in upcoming scenes, amid a dark secret being exposed involving the character. With Toyah set to reveal a truth about her past to Leanne's partner Nick Tilsley next week, Leanne is left feeling betrayed by both of them.

Rowan soon arrives, and after weeks of telling her how his organisation the Autovalent Institute can help her, including exercises to ease her worries, he suggests to Leanne she should unburden herself of negativity and embark on some "uploading". Leanne is unsure, but Rowan tells her to put herself first.

Leanne talks Rowan through all the bad things that have happened in her life, he listens intently and assures her that he’s by her side every step of the way. But as he reels her in, Toyah continues to share her feelings about Rowan and his ideas.

As a result, Rowan urges Leanne to immediately distance herself from her sister when she passes this discussion on to him - but will the sisters be torn apart? It comes as actor Emrhys Cooper teased what's ahead for the plot.

Feud teased

Todd Grimshaw makes a discovery
(Image: ITV)

Coronation Street spoilers for next week see a big discovery about a past character. In upcoming scenes, George Shuttleworth reveals that he's updating his will and he wants Eileen Grimshaw to accept power of attorney. However, the conversation is overheard by sister Glenda Shuttleworth, who had popped over with some washing, and is offended Eileen has been asked over her as she storms out.

Later, a suspicious Eileen calls at the undertakers to find her son Todd there, plying George with tea and biscuits amid news of him updating his will. Will George cotton on to Todd's hidden agenda? Later in the week, George files away a copy of his new will at the undertakers, with a nosy Todd watching on.

It's not long until an intrigued Todd reads through George's will, where he's caught red-handed by Eileen. Todd is quick to divulge the details from the will, revealing that George is leaving him the business to which Eileen scolds that George would change his mind if he knew he'd gone behind his back.

After being told off, a sheepish Todd slips George's will back in the file and discovers a copy of George's father Archie Shuttleworth's will and quickly hides it inside his pocket. Later in the week, Eileen prepares to leave for Thailand and packs the last of her things.

However, before she leaves, she drops a bombshell as she tells George that Todd found a copy of Archie's will, which states that his sister Glenda is set to have half the business. As a stunned George peruses his father's will, Todd does his best to play down its importance as he worries it might jeopardise his future. Will George tell Glenda the truth and if she finds out he lied, could this lead to a sibling feud?

Character exit

Coronation Street fans will see one character take some time away from Weatherfield next week on the ITV soap. The spoilers tease an abrupt exit for one character on the show, 24 years after they debuted. Eileen plots an exit from Weatherfiled next week, while no details are given about when she will be back.

It's not thought to be a permanent exit, while the storyline seems to come out of nowhere. Scenes next week on the ITV soap will see the character pack up and leave, heading to Thailand.

It seems to coincide with actress Sue Cleaver, who has paid Eileen since 2000, taking on an exciting new role away from the show. Sue is starring in Sister Act: The Musical, which is touring the UK this year, and so it seems this is why Eileen is being written out of the show.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on Virgin Media.
