PM Abela meets Spanish counterpart in Brussels

Prime Minister Robert Abela has met with his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sánchez as the two heads of government attend the European Council summit in Brussels.

A Department of Information statement said the two sides discussed the situation in the Middle East, in particular the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need for a permanent ceasefire.

Malta and Spain are two of the countries advocating for a two-State solution that would serve as the basis of peace in the Middle East.

Started the day by meeting my friend @sanchezcastejon on current issues in the Middle East. From fostering peace to prioritising humanitarian aid, stability remains paramount for our Mediterranean region. - RA pic.twitter.com/GjCAzV17eJ
