World Snooker Championship draw in full as Ronnie O'Sullivan discovers Crucible fate

The draw for the first round of the iconic World Snooker Championship has taken place.

Seven-time Ronnie O'Sullivan will go head-to-head against Jackson Page, while Mark Selby and Joe O'Connor face off in an all-Leicestershire affair and Judd Trump is set to take on Hossein Vafaei in one of the ties of the round.

When coming through his qualifying round match, Page was asked if there was anyone he would like to face and said: "Oh no, give me anyone, I ain't bothered."

Meanwhile, O'Sullivan has his eyes set on his eighth world title, having last won the tournament back in 2022. He said: "The only one I haven't got is eight world titles, It'd be nice to win it. Would it complete my life? Nah. I'm trying to separate life from work. But it would be nice, I'm not going to lie.

"When I have had 2-3 months where I have been playing great, then that would be the time when I'll hang my cue up. Would I hang my cue up now? I wouldn't. Because I don't feel like I have been in a good place with it. Now definitely wouldn't be the time."

Ding Junhui going up against Jack Lisowski in the opening round is another gigantic match-up, with last year's winner Luca Brecel kickstarting the tournament against David Gilbert on Saturday morning.

The tournament is set to get underway at The Crucible in Sheffield on Saturday and will run all the way until Monday May 6. Over £2million is on offer as prize money, with £500k set to be banked by the winner.
