Inside Prince Harry's upcoming London trip after 'not speaking to Prince William for a year'

Prince Harry is scheduled to return home in a few weeks after reportedly not speaking to brother Prince William in over a year.

There are questions whether Harry will see William or Kate Middleton, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer as well as his nephews, Prince George and Prince Louis, and niece Princess Charlotte. Harry is set to speak at 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games special service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8. The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded for wounded service members and veterans that Harry founded in 2014.

The Duke of Sussex's possible visit comes with the recent loss Harry had in a legal bid to appeal against High Court's UK security ruling in February. In 2020, the British government told him, he would no same kind of publicly funded police protection when is in the UK after giving up his status asa working member of the royal family.

A source in the Sussex crowd said to Page Six, “I can imagine that Harry may see his father, and check in, but things are still very fraught with William, this is the real problem.”

King Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer in February after being discovered recent corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate. Kate's undisclosed cancer was diagnosed a month later in March 22 following tests after her abdominal surgery.

Sources told Page Six Harry was aware of his father's illness before it was publicized but he and wife Megan Markle were not made privy to Kate's medical condition and found out when the world did. Harry talked to Good Morning America in February about visiting his father after the cancer diagnosis.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” Harry and Megan said in a statement. Recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been seen in Florida last week at a polo match, Royal Salute Polo Challenge, filming for a new Netflix series about professional polo.

The pair have been living in the states specifically California since June 2020 after stepping down as senior royals in January 2020, pointing to racist treatment towards Megan and toxic media intrusion as the reasons. They have live their every since with son Archie and daughter Lilibet.

In an interview with 60 Minutes in January 2023, Harry shared with Anderson Cooper ahead of the release of his memoir, Spare , that he has not spoken to William in a while. In the interview it sounded like the cause of the tension was due to "them briefing daily against my wife with lies."

But Harry stated in the interview that he believed the rift can be healed but "the ball is very much in their court" and that a private "constructive conversation" needed to be had.

“I look forward to having a relationship with my brother,” Harry also shared in the same interview, acknowledging he still cares for his family. “I look forward to having a relationship with my father and other members of my family.”
