The Railtarget website writes that the launching of the new service comes on the heels of RegioJet’s success on the Prague-Premyšl line, which saw over 230,000 passengers in 2023, marking a 60-percent increase from the previous year.
RegioJet does not have a licence to operate trains in Ukraine. Therefore, the service is operated in cooperation with Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia). The Ukrainian company is said to introduce a transfer train that would connect Chernivtsi, Chop, and Uzhhorod with the new Prague-Chop international route, writes eTurboNews.
The Slovak national carrier ZSSK runs a twice-day service to Chop and Mukachevo.
