A number of Ireland's top comedians will perform at a benefit show in Dublin in May to raise funds for medical aid for Palestine.

The Irish Comics For Palestine event will be held on May 6 at Vicar Street, with tickets for the gig on sale now via Ticketmaster.

The line-up for May's event will feature some of the biggest names on the night, with Dylan Moran, Ardal O'Hanlon, Deirdre O'Kane, Emma Doran, David McSavage, Chris Kent and Anne Gildea all set to perform on the night, while Apres Match's Barry Murphy on MC duties.

The gig is being held in aid of Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) for the Gaza Regional Fund.

Working in over 70 countries worldwide, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an independent, neutral, impartial medical organisation dedicated to providing lifesaving healthcare to people affected by conflict, epidemics, and disasters.

The Gaza Emergency Regional Fund supports MSF’s humanitarian medical and surgical response in Gaza and the West Bank and provides MSF the ability to scale-up humanitarian activities to support Palestinians in the wider region if medical activities connected to the Gaza conflict are required.

In Gaza MSF surgeons, doctors and nurses provide emergency surgeries, wound treatment, medical and maternity care in overcrowded hospitals, health facilities and clinics.

"The Gaza Emergency Regional Fund has sent over 100 tons of medical supplies into Gaza, but so much more is needed," the organisation said in a statement.

"Our teams provide surgical support, maternity care, wound care, physiotherapy, post-partum care, primary health care, vaccination, and mental health services, but systematic sieges and evacuation orders on various hospitals are pushing our activities onto an ever-smaller territory and limiting response."

Tickets for the Irish Comics For Palestine show are on sale now, starting from €30, and are available on Ticketmaster.
