Disgraced Dani Alves makes first court appearance after 'party until 5am' follows release from jail

Dani Alves spent one of his first nights out of jail partying until the early hours of the morning, it has been claimed.

The disgraced former Barcelona and PSG star paid his €1million (£850,000) bail bond to get himself out of Brians 2 prison on Monday after 15 months spent behind bars awaiting his trial for raping a woman in December 2022. The Brazilian was found guilty in February and sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison.

The jail sentence he received was far less than the nine years public prosecutors demanded. Now, due to Spanish law, he is allowed out with his appeal process ongoing. He has had to hand in both his Spanish and Brazilian passports.

He's currently enjoying his freedom and Spanish TV program 'This is Life' claim he celebrated his father's recent birthday at his €4.5m house in Esplugues de Llobregat until 5am. He also attended a dinner party in Barcelona in honour of his father, Domingos Alves Da Silva, earlier in the evening.

Alves was pictured on Thursday arriving alongside his lawyer, Ines Guardiola, at court in Barcelona to sign in at court, as per terms of his bail release.

Alves may have left jail sooner if it wasn't for issues accessing the cash. Sport reported that his accounts in Brazil have been blocked due to problems with his ex-wife Dinorah Santana whilst his lawyer claimed last year that her client 'is broke'.

There had been suggestion that Brazilian team-mate Neymar's dad would help Alves pay the bail money, but he issued a statement denying he would hand over any cash after coming under political pressure in his homeland. Memphis Depay's agent then had to deny 'fake' claims on social media after it was suggested that the Atletico Madrid player had helped supply Alves with the cash needed to gain his temporary freedom on Tuesday.

"This is fake news. It is false news, it is not true at all," Sebastien Ledure told Informativos Telecinco.

Alves isn't the only Brazilian international to be in trouble with the law. Robinho, once of Manchester City, was arrested at his flat in Santos last week having been found guilty in 2017 for his part in the gang rape of an Albanian woman at a night club in Milan in January 2013. He is due to serve a nine-year prison sentence.

Felipe Melo played alongside both men on the international stage and the South American insists they must pay. He told Globo Sporte : "I have a 15-year-old daughter. If they had done that with my daughter, I don't think I would be here to give this interview.

"I believe we must respect other human beings, we must respect women, we must respect men. They have to pay for what they did. And let it serve as a lesson so that others do not do it. This is very serious."
